The FLRA Improves Ability to Research Authority Decisions
The FLRA announced today that it has launched a new and improved tool for researching Authority decisions at www.flra.gov/authority_decisions. The new tool allows parties to search Authority decisions by citation -- both page and issuance number -- case number, arbitrator, parties, subject terms, and volume list. "The new search capability, which was designed with input from external and internal stakeholders, was developed to provide easier, more user-friendly, and complete access to agency decisions," said FLRA Chairman Carol Waller Pope. "This improvement to the FLRA’s web site is another step in our on-going efforts to better serve our customers and to provide current, useful tools for Federal employees, the unions that represent them, and Federal agencies in resolving issues under the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute."
The FLRA’s new search capability is the product of months of development, during which the FLRA was devising the most effective and efficient research platform, and gathering input on researching needs from its customers and employees. Since the FLRA first unveiled its new website in October 2009, all agency decisions have been migrated to the new website. Beginning in December 2009, the public was able to search exclusively on the new site while the FLRA continued to more fully develop the research capabilities. The launching of the new research tool today represents a significant step in the successful implementation of the FLRA’s new website. In addition, responding positively to the input of the FLRA’s customers is an important step in the revitalization, reinvention, and re-engagement of the FLRA.
